The National Center for Innovation provides its services to the innovation, scientific research, and entrepreneurship ecosystem in Jordan, activating its role as a national umbrella to nurture and stimulate it and facilitate the work of stakeholders, as well as enabling cooperative opportunities among them, in order to achieve its strategic objectives.
These services are divided into two main types:
The Jordan Open Innovation Platform (JOIP) represents an online platform that is the first of its kind in Jordan and the MENA region. It collects all Innovation activities and connects the innovation ecosystem stakeholders within a Cloud-based (PaaS) Platform as a Service by collecting data and information related to innovation from internationally authenticated and verified sources and databases, exchange ideas and experiences, share knowledge, and activate a greater cooperation between science, technology and innovation (STI).
The JOIP platform offers official institution pages the necessary digital tools to build and manage workflow programs for activities, events, competitions, conferences, and grants in a manner that is consistent with their policies and the nature of their work. This includes creating various types of application requests, with high flexibility in form design, receiving applications, forwarding them to approved evaluators for review, and tracking requests. The JOIP platform serves as a center for organizing the work of the Innovation, research, and scientific development ecosystem, thereby stimulating partnership and networking opportunities among stakeholders.
The JOIP platform works to stimulate partnership opportunities and facilitate the building of distinguished partnerships between institutions concerned with Innovation, research, scientific development, entrepreneurship, and individuals such as researchers, experts, entrepreneurs, and other innovators with local, regional, and international funders. This involves:
- Matchmaking between platform users through artificial intelligence technology built on algorithms that work based on specialisation, research area, and more.
- Allowing stakeholders in the Innovation ecosystem to benefit from recommendations and referrals to increase their chances of collaboration and partnership formation.
- Identifying local, regional, and international grant-making and funding entities, the conditions for benefiting from them, and how to apply.
- Finding opportunities to commercialise innovative research and ideas among researchers and institutions, leading to a knowledge-based economy founded on Innovation for sustainable development.

The JOIP platform works to transform Jordanian knowledge content into digital content by acting as a digital gateway. This is done through the creation of Jordanian Digital Object Identifiers (JDOI) for innovative works and research, which can be accessed from any internet browser. This contributes to sharing knowledge, exchanging ideas and experiences among stakeholders in the Innovation, research, and scientific development ecosystem, and further facilitating collaboration between Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI). It promotes Jordan as a regional hub for Innovation and entrepreneurship.
